Japan has four distinct seasons, spring (March to May), summer (June to August), autumn (September to November) and winter (December to February). Tokyo has a comparatively moderate and comfortable climate throughout the year. Spring and autumn are very mild. In September, there are still hot days, but relatively more rainfall than other months. In October, sometimes typhoon hit Tokyo, but in general, the temperature and humidity is mild and comfortable. Since late October to November, temperatures drop and the leaves begin to turn red in some places. From early October the temperature starts falling in the morning and evening, a jacket or cardigan will be necessary. In November, something like a light wool sweater or topcoat will be needed.
